to celebrate having money, I went to Huddersfield on Saturday to see Paws and Junpei. in which I fell in love with Vista, Bioshock, and ate cookies. heard lots of innuendo. had lots of random, pseudo heart-to-hearts.
it's always kind of fun to look back on things with people. we've known each other for three years, which leads to a lot of 'if this had happened-' or 'maybe things would have been different if-', but laughing over it.
and emo porn. I kid you not. setting up Paw's pc, Scott made a folder called 'emo porn' just to show how the folder system worked, and then showed me a site with actual, honest to god, emo porn. rule 34.

I was going to write this really prentiously emo and bitchy entry about disappointments and expectations, but now, I feel happy again.
I also met the mysterious fourth [fifth] flatmate - apparently the person in room 5 is actually a they and are a couple sharing, and it's their stuff in the lounge. she seems really nice and friendly, so we both had a '\o/ person who likes socialising!' moment. we'll see. we'll see.

- my friends. yes, we all know I can be a disgusting sap at times, but hey. ♥♥ there are some of my friends who put up with a ridiculous amount of shit and clinginess off me. there are also some people who are just fantastically funny.
and the best part? I get to see a fair few of them next weekend. ♥
even if I only see you once or twice a year, even if I don't speak to you much, even if we're just lj friends, all of you have made my life so much better.

Today, Max ate the top of the tv remote, then did something to his leg which involved scraping the skin off. So he's not happy, so Indy is all subdued. and smelly. urgh.

there are some things that people don't want to talk about. and you know, I'd've thought when asking 'why?' if the reply was 'because', it would kind of imply they don't really want to talk about it. huh. but what do I know?

I went out for a ride on Banner, and it's kind of all good, because it's one of the few times I can talk to my mother without her bringing up the thing about jobs and the summer. and as well, I love that horse to bits and pieces.

I'm thinking of what to spend my birthday gift voucher on. I'm torn between an iTunes gift voucher or selling it to my mother. huh, she still owes me for those chocolates she ate. also, I kind of really want the Sounds album and perhaps the special edition of From Under The Cork Tree. But that can wait until September. I don't know if my lj account can wait until then. I'm kind of addicited to this thing, huh. I do kind of need new jeans a little more urgently.

Hung out with kiraras_lemon, penanna, loki128 and pawsaldo today, and there was general madness and violence. And Pokemans. And because Paws kept stepping on the ripped part of my trousers, there's now a part by the hem where I had to hack off the torn bit with a knife so I'd stop tripping on it.
And me being a total loser and being half an hour late when I live ten minutes from the station. Oh, priorities, what are those?

My mouth is kind of hurting at the moment, it might be my wisdom tooth, but who knows? I have bonjela, but that actually makes it hurt a little worse.

Now, um, I have to go wash out this glass that had chocolate milk in, it's beginning to go green around the edges. Ahahaha, yes, I need to clean my room like whoa. Especially since I have people crashing here for the next three weekends! [it makes me feel popular. I really don't mind, because as well, noodles, pirates and dancing are involved.]

Also [although I know I'm going to have to e-mail them as well] Loki, Tegan, Ellie! Regarding my birthday thing - I have one sleeping bag! So it'd be super useful if you could tell me if you had anything we could be able to use!

On my current playlist, I'm listening to a Swedish dance punk band [the Sounds], a band which apparently got its name from a talking cobra in the desert [Cobra Starships] and some of the String Quartet Tributes, along with the general stuff I normally listen to, with a heavy bias towards My Chemical Romance, Panic and Fall Out Boy, with a dash of Muse thrown in for good measure.
I love my music taste. Too much music, too little space.

Kicking the Iso
- Okay, you may or may not know I used to date isonekobaka. There was great angst and emo revolving around it, whatever. And some point after the breakup and getting to be friends again, there was kicking. Because I'm a little bit violent. And kick him. A lot. And in our 'oh my god we are so totally cool' way, me and a friend added it to our interests. And then other people added it. So it kind of spiralled. Jesus condones kicking the Iso! [Someone added the interest on a spoof lj.] We love our drama! ...No, really, we don't but it's all good now.

- Because Panic! At The Disco are tiny. They're probably not that tiny, but it is just how the fandom sees them. They're so tiny and cute. It's really a case of stealing interests from comms I'm in. [and plus, I'm kind of really into them at the moment.]

Cheap plastic toys
It's a throwback to when I still liked Gundam Seed. They had it in their interests, and I thought 'hey, that's kind of funny.' And plus, I love cheap plastic toys. I have two tins full of random junk on my desk, current contents including a Hello Kitty pencil topper, some Naruto phone charms, hairclips, my keyring chewtoy [it's bendy and comes to pieces, fun to gnaw on], paper clips and some badges.
In fact, I have a whole drawer dedicated to my random cheap toys and shiny things. I'm like a magpie.

Today was kinda fun. Bar the falling asleep every five minutes because people decided to drag me into multiconvos at midnight!
I'm not complaining, mind you.

At lunch, ended up playing frisbee with Keith, Rob and Rob's friend [k I suck at knowing people's names] and later joined by more people in our year. And yeah, I suck at frisbee. But it was fun.
After that [including demonstration of our project, but that's boring] met up with Pin, Ani and random quiet person. And it was fun. Stealing cherries! Innuendo that wasn't. ['Swallow!' *chokechoke* 'D: Stop being twisted!']

And there was also shopping, because when isn't there shopping. I said 'keep me away from the make up because I always have to buy some!' and Pin says 'I need to go look at the make up!' So I brought some. And then Anisha goes 'I want to go to TK Max!' And I always buy t-shirts there. However - lilac t-shirt with a dragon fly and the text 'I'm a great catch' is win.

Project wise - the touch screen is working. Only problem is, I'm too sleepy to write the report.
Amusing things that happened during the labs today:

• Commodore measuring the resistance of his tongue. Apparently it's a megaohm.


• Going into labs after lunch, realising I couldn't do anything. Told Sean to text me when he'd finished with the board and I'd come in the lab. I go home and as soon as I get in, get a message telling me to come back. I almost cried.


• Walking past Jonny and pulling a 'I'm-a-spaz-who's-going-back-into-uni-at-4pm' face.


• Finally making back into uni, and feeling grouchy, Commodore looks over and is 'she has lost the will to live!'


• Realising what we thought was the x coordinate was actually the y and vice versa. And having no idea how we did it. This is the wonders of my class.


• Finding out my block diagram was unimaginative. what. It's a diagram. Showing functions and how they interact. where does imagination come into it? [...We still got 73%. That's a first right there.]

Tomorrow looks to be fun, heading off to mujs [for anime I do not care about.] with the lovely pinali [and maybe even buying my pet emo] and hopefully going to either 5th or 42s. However, going in a group makes my queue jumper kind of pointless.

Also thinking of doing a voicepost, since my voice amuses me.

So, yeah, shuraiya asked the other day if I'd seen the trailer for the new Panic video. So, I went to go see it.

Hopefully the entire video won't be like that. Because it makes me giggle in the 'this video is actually kinda of seriously weird.' [For kicks, the new Cute Is What We Aim For video did that as well, but not as bad because, hello? Mime-sex?] It just makes me disappointed, because I watched the Lying video right after, which is actually kinda cool. And then the vid for Saturday. [because everyone needs pete wentz as a serial killer, right? right.] But yeah. I am not liking the porn. Especially masquerading as a music video.

Sundays are such... slow days. Honestly, I never get any work done on a Sunday. I don't even write fic. It's just a bit like I've hit a dead end, or a wall, or something.

So, who is a complete failure at playing background music? All I had to do was press the right song in the right place. Managed to play the wrong song, start a song too early, start playing a song with mute on, forget to put mute on... But still, they said I did a good job, so I might help out another time. Next event they're running is the same night as the Indiesoc meal though, oops. It'll be good to see indie people again.

I really wish I'd gone to see either Cute Is what We Aim For or hellogoodbye back in January. Maybe it's the overdosing on p!atd, or the fact that I generally prefer the bouncier music anyway...

Still feeling a bit gross and sniffly, and my throat isn't really feeling much better. Still being weird about food though. Plus, I'm permanently cursed with typos at the moment. And my stomach is still all scaly/itchy with rash. Yuck.

I found the best cover of Round Here ever. It makes me sparkle, although the original still wins. I think Counting Crows are one of the best bands I've seen live for sure. I'm also getting the p!atd boxset soon and a 'new' mobile. New meaning it's better than my current one.

And really, it's so dinner time now.

Okay, I'm pretty much loving Infinity On High. Apart from This Ain't A Scene, but you knew that. I want a mini shopping spree yesterday - brought Infinity on High, some new underwear and stuff [omg emo pants :D].

Although I'm making schemes and extracting promises from people to come with me the next time bands tour. I'm crazy like that.

I did go to the doctors, finally. And everything is moderately sorted - the diagnosis is that everything will be better if I lose weight. So I need to really look into judo or karate or something already. But it all kinda works out, I would like to feel better about what I look like. Although - 34FF? Booya. That's always an ego boost, right.

So, oh yeah. It's been a great weekend.

Also, they cast Prince Caspian for the next Narnia movie - incidentally, Prince Caspian. Strange that. Makes me giggle though, because he's 25. Playing a 14 year old. It's not that bad considering his last role - Dakin in The History Boys. Heh. Not the same one as the film, but still, pretty good looking.

Saturday was truely made of win. We've gotta do it again, but maybe with more people. But watching things like Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series and Narutowned with people who find it as funny as I do is great. :D [I am convinced that is the best Naruto AMV ever.] Also brought an Emily the Strange plushie and a tshirt from Animal. Gotta love sales. :P
Also brought The Postal Service's album since I figured I really liked the songs I already had. I'm also thinking of getting the new Fall Out Boy album too - anyone got any opinions? I still don't like 'This Ain't A Scene' but I'm really loving 'G.I.N.A.S.F.S.' It's the kinda song I like.

Still gotta do my adayinmylife posts though, I really should get around to doing it.

Uni wise - our first report is in for this week, so I should really write up what I've done in draft so far. Also got some coursework marks back, which lifted my spirit somewhat. 90% for the module I've done badly at? Yes plz. [Coursework makes up 20%, so that's, what, 32 needed from the exam e.e;] I do really want it... Just hope I've learnt my lesson.
It's odd how many times our lecturer went on about violation the other day - code violation, admittedly. But sometimes, we're dumb. I like being dumb occasionally.
