oh man, amusement.

Sarri: ':D :D :D *prepares to write super emo entry*'
guy from class: *sits down next to her* 'so, hey about this lab...'

I forgive him, because his hair is pretty like a girl.
I have a thing about hair. fluffy and straightened? yesplz. I would like to pet it.
but I'm just the kind of weird, possibly slightly standoffish girl who he just has classes with.

it amuses me that he's the second guy with nice hair that I've noticed in my lectures. there's a second year in one of my classes who dyes his hair pink and red. oh man, it's awesome.

I feel like dying my hair something bright.

-

also, someone please save me. I don't want to watch SGA, do I? do I?
I keep having brief flings with tv shows. see, Lost, Heroes, Supernatural, Veronica Mars, House. see Scrubs.

-

I saw a video of Brand New at Reading. swear to god, the camera must have been right by me. playing 'you won't know', watching the crowd go mad.

I never wrote about that, but - oh god, it was awesome. couldn't move, crammed up by the front. I didn't know half the words but I knew the songs well enough. singing 'you won't know' over and over into the guitar.

oh, I want to be back there. I've got the gig bug. I know I say I hate the crowds, but there's some kind of electricity that's just... just awesome.
I have a list of bands I would kill to see again. since I've seen almost every band I wanted to see this year.

my apathy almost overwhelms me sometimes.

hunger. sleep. cold. but I'm defrosting.

I HAVE TOTALLY JUST BEEN TO SEE MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE. dude.

hmm, let's start with the bad points.
still no Frank. no explanation, no 'Matt is playing for Frank today'. what did I expect though? insert huge ramble on communication between band and fans and respecting privacy. sometimes, it'd just be cool for you to say 'Frank can't play. here is Matt.' instead of just, well, not saying anything.
the crowd. gah. I know it's normal crowd behaviour, the whole pushing forward and surges from side to side, but it's so annoying. people don't want to let you get in front of them, deal with it. got knocked over once, and had trouble breathing at one point - I have never been so glad to hear 'I Don't Love You'. and my shoe lace came undone. fun for bouncing. the hilarious thing was for MSI and before mychem came on, I was slightly to the right of the right hand mic and about 4 rows back. by midway through mychem, I was more or less dead centre but quite a way back.
also, they ran out of my size in the shirt I wanted.
[livejournal.com profile] the_sell_out is stuck in Sheffield overnight! and is already sleep deprived enough as it is.

queueing, while cold, was hysterical. met up with [livejournal.com profile] the_sell_out [♥ thanks for being awesome!] and got to the arena around 1.30ish, I guess. ended up chatting to the girls next to us who were also awesome. much speaking in macros, fandom and 'hey Mikey you're so fine!'. fangirls.
MSI - amazing performers. hysterically funny. 'say 'I fucked your sister yesterday, douchebag'.' plus, since we ended up on Lyn-Z's side of the stage, when she jumped into the crowd, I ended up being one of the people holding her feet up before she actually jumped. so she was standing on us. Lyn-Z had a little crowd of fangirls, it was kind of funny.
despite all my bitching - My Chemical Romance were fantastic.
HEADFIRST FOR FUCKING HALOS.
really nice people in the crowd! we were helping boost people forward to get out.
I have a tshirt, even if it's a small adult one as opposed to a large skinny.

I have less money than I thought and a lecture in less than 6 hours. awesome.

so um. it's early. and I've slept very little. and my train is in 3 hours and Frank's probably won't be playing and they've stopped playing Bullets and -

I saw Biffy Clyro last night, pretty awesome.

off to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] the_sell_out, have a good day! ♥♥

The first five people to comment on this post get to request a ficlet from you. In return, they have to post this meme in their journal. Post all fandoms you're willing to write for.

bandom, doctor who, various anime [ccs, fruits basket, digimon, one piece at a stretch]. um, suggest it, and I'll shoot you down.

I'm also just in general uninspired. I have my [livejournal.com profile] nightmare_xmas assignment, I have an idea, I have how it should start- but I get stuck there.

-

I keep wanting to have my mood as accomplished. I love those dork faces. however, lazy will do too.

I'm trying to plan out my trip to Sheffield - it all hinges on me getting the last tram to the station - which leaves at 11.15pm. however, there's still a two hour wait in the station, unless by some freak chance I can get there by 10.30. that ain't gonna happen. it's the waiting in the station that I'm scared about. however, I will get to see My Chemical Romance and Mindless Self Indulgence. oh man, you wish you were me. or not.
it's the morning after that's gonna kill me. two concerts in a row, and I won't be getting in until 3am - and a 9am start. I just thank god I live so close to the station. [why couldn't you have just come to Manchester? then I'd have had people to go with D¦ I don't mind the going alone so much, but there's a big difference between the Academy and Sheffield. *takes a kitten* *shotget*]

-

in other fannish news, Brand New's Untitled 7 is released on iTunes tomorrow! however, I dislike iTunes, so anyone know how to unlock the coding? aha. I'm going to buy it, I still have that free code I got for drinking too much coke.

-

something hilariously awful happened today. I have this thing with my jeans - the hem at the bottom tends to wear away and go all ratty. and on one leg, there's a fairly long strip of material that's still attatched, but just gets in the way. I was crossing the road after I'd been shopping, and being partially distracted by my phone, stepped on the end of my jeans, tripped myself up, and completely wiped out. thank god I was not actually in the road at this point, but on the little bit of pavement in between the lanes. the guy crossing the road from the other side was all 'D: sorry!' although, I had no idea what he thought he'd done.
poor lettuce and pizza box, you broke my fall. for great justice.

I seriously need to go along to the doctors. [and register for one that I'm actually in the right area for!] someone remind me or something.

-

I keep saying about how the world is too small. one of my flatmates [and his friend, but that's a whole different story, aha] is on the same course as [livejournal.com profile] dogmop. which is kind of coincidental. turns out, Alan also was actually in a group last year with [livejournal.com profile] madmailbu, who I have known on and off, since reception. seriously, it's the freakiest thing, especially considering how much of a random coincidence we got in touch again in the first place.

[but we're not giving up the coastline so easily.]

I had another phase of 'let's go read really old online journals' again.
some of you may or may not have heard of journalfen. it's where Fandom Wank is hosted, and is a strictly 18+ only site. I've had an account there since the start of 04. do the maths, I was 15. 15 and painfully emo and in infatuation with my best friend. under a username I generally didn't go by with a fake email and a fake birthday... hardcore lurking.
[for kicks, the username is related to one of the tags for this entry.]

-

I'm getting my indie back on and trying to listen to Athlete's new album. man, I'd forgotten how much I liked them. it's a band that has [some amount of] emotional significance to me - because Half Light is a song for long distance relationships, and still makes me hurt a little inside. I'm a masochist like that.
okay, because I'm a spaz, I forgot to post this before I went. but. oh god. twas awesome. they played a few new ones - plus all the old ones I love.

-

before I forget!
anyone else interested in coming to see Hellogoodbye in Manchester on Tuesday 11th December? tickets are £12 - don't know if there'll be any left on the door, but if needs be, I can buy them for people [if I don't get paid back, i will smite you.] I have limited floor space on offer as well.

[pick me up, bring me inside, so maybe next time i won't fall down the steps.]

note to self - fixing sore throat with coca-cola does not work. it will never work. stop trying.

however, strawberries are awesome.

...do you know what else is awesome? Straylight Run.
oh man. asddkjjj.
the best things about small gig venues are:
- so easy to get to the front. for Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer and Strayligh Run, I was one person away from the front, pretty much in front of where John Nolan was standing.
- also easy to take photos! seriously. for mychem, I would never consider taking my camera, cause it would be too hard to get decent photos.
- occasionally see band members wandering through the crowd. standing and watching in the crowd.
- ...the bands man the merch table themselves.
I got autographs and photos from Zolof, autographs from all of Straylight Run and photos with 3 of them. I look like a total spaz but hey. it's a follow on from the Panic photo. I'll post those up later, maybe.

the actual bands! Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer - happy electropoppy stuff.very catchy, very upbeat. best song title: 'argh! I'm a pirate!'
Straylight Run - the only thing I'm really disappointed about was that they didn't play Your Name Here. otherwise - oh man, awesome. there was a fair bit of switching on stage between Michelle and John with the two guitars and keyboards. oh man. awesome. I unfortunately didn't get any videos, wish I had.
Motion City Soundtrack - they seemed okay. ahaha. the band it was actually about. the singer was pretty good at putting on a show, very talky, very funny.

The whole atmosphere seemed pretty cool as well. there was a guy at the front who was totally hyped for Zolof who I ended up talking to for a bit when we were hanging around the merch table. a few people were actually talking a fair bit to the bands, but I am, as previously noted, incredibly shy.
but, oh man.

-

went fencing today, which helped me cheer up. even if I suck at it. although, oh god. there's a guy who looks rather like Chase from House. I laughed. but anyway, it was good, because we were all beginners. and doing footwork games. like, habing to do the opposite of what one of the guys was telling us. 'one step forward' = 'two steps back'. I kind of suck at footwork though. any tips, teegs? XD

I mean, I still feel really guilty about not wanting to ride all that much. I have to work on this guilt thing. but I'm going to go along on thursday and say that I'm interested, but not until January.

in other news, I finally made it into a lecture. go me.

-

so I'm sitting here, listening to hyper music, and wondering why when I meet someone called John, I automatically check whether or not it has a h.

[believe me, there was truth in all those stories that i told.]
kthxrawr: (fall out boy - pete - ...yeah)
[personal profile] kthxrawr
ahaha, oh shit. someone's clever and has lost their student loan id and password. and has been spending too much money.

I'm off to see Motion City Soundtrack tomorrow! truth be told, I'm far more excited about the support. Straylight Run, people.

yesterday was the mujs chinese buffet, which I turned up to feeling awful. but food makes everything better, as does The Umbrella Academy. I've got a standing order for it, but really, I didn't need to bother - there was a huge stack of them in both comic shops we went into. also, Potato was talking about it because he likes comics and had heard it was good, and I was 'yeah, I'm not one of the people who are buying it just because who wrote it... really.' we went into the the most random pub and stayed there for ages, but it was good to talk to Dory about everything.

today [yesterday] has been a day of suspended time. time flows strangely on sundays, I've never quite figured it out- just all of a sudden, it's the early morning and there are no more cars or trains. just streetlights. I can't even see the hills.
all my vices, all the things I need to stop buying start with c.
when I think someone is interested, it's only in being friends, and vice versa. it gets confusing after a while. spell it out for me, I don't mind hearing no. the sweetest thing a boy has done for me lately is not cut me out. we're not best friends, but we talk.
what becomes of our hearts? don't break mine, I'd like to find out. I'd give my heart to anyone who asked, but take it back as soon as they gave me theirs. that's just the kind of girl I am, I'm sorry. we're all still reeling from the past. but. we'll make it. together or apart. we'll make it and break it and carry on.

I have animal magnets on my speakers, and that kind of makes me happy. other things that make me happy are you, those boys in those stupid bands, and the fact I have drank a whole carton of orange juice today.

[take in the starlight before it disappears.]
kthxrawr: (Muse - Matt)
[personal profile] kthxrawr
internets! sweet sweet internets.
in other news of how sarri fails at life, part 1345 - the reason why the internet wasn't working yesterday [and why i was flailing at Loki going 'WHY DON'T I HAVE A DEFAULT GATEWAY'] was because I put the wrong mac address in. 8B will never be B8, people.
also, Pico is getting a power supply. so soon, I'll have internet and a fast computer.
also also, I went and spent £42 on gig tickets. Athlete, Biffy Clyro and Hellogoodbye. so all in all, I'm a little spazzy right now. I also may have a spending addiction. although what the fuck, Straylight Run are touring. gah. someone please, tell me I don't want to go and buy tickets. I swear, I'm going to spend my entire student loan on gigs at this rate. I just find it really easy to spend my money.

mm, I'll get back to normal soon, I promise.

I've been spending a bit of time helping Sophie and Alan out at the freshers stall. it's kind of good, since we can go look around [and get free stuff] without queueing up to get in. the queue is always so long. and the society has been doing pretty well - we've had around 200 sign ups? which is a little scary.

lectures start on monday, fencing starts the week after. maybe I'll leave riding for a bit?

-

What's the most ridicolous thing you've ever brought?
Pete: Ryan Ross.

did I mention I love my fandom?

AHAHHAA WHAT. I hate my stupid face and it's inability to look, well, unretarded.
cut for photo )

see there. that's me. looking really, um, I don't know. please note at this point I was kind of 'o____o what what *shock*'

[yes this is another gratitous I MET PANIC post. I'LL GET OVER IT SOON, PROMISE.]

['that's not a circle, that's a fucking oblong.']
kthxrawr: (jack marin - smiling)
[personal profile] kthxrawr
oh god, showers.

this weekend, i have:
- experienced karma, coincidence, happenstance, fate or just simple luck.
- seen a whole load of my favourite bands.
- heard a few more.
- listened to bands i was never really that into before!
- had awesome weather!
- fucked off a whole lot. ['becky, where's your mate?' '...she'll be back.']
- managed to get my lanyard signed by brand new. [only for it to rub off later. D:]
- ended up being two people away from the barrier for fall out boy.
- to achieve this, i ended up standing for around nine hours without sitting, eating or going to the toilet.
- found out the hard way how much crowdsurfers hurt when they end up putting a foot in your face.
- spoken to some pretty awesome people while in signing queues/the barrier crowd. people are so much nicer when they're not trying to put a elbow in your face. :]
- avoided circle pits like the plague. despite every band being all 'we want to see the biggest circle pit ever!'
- slept far too easily. and at weird times. 12am - 6am is not good sleeping for festival.
- ...and met panic! at the disco.

...yes, i'm still pretty hyper over that.

at some point, i'll do a more comprehensive review of the bands i saw, at least.

so, um, how are you all? :D *goes to read friends page*

[fall on your tongue like pixie dust, just think happy thoughts.]
kthxrawr: (mcr - gerard has a mic and knows how to)
[personal profile] kthxrawr
so it turns out, I am being paid for ironing in mychem tickets.

so, really, this year or just-over-twelve months has turned out to be pretty fantastic for gigs. because I'm seeing every band that I have ever wanted to see. Muse and Snow Patrol last November, Fall out Boy, Panic et al at Reading, and if all goes well, My Chemical Romance in November with Lon.

...just watch them release a Manchester date now.

[I mean, like you guys actually care, haha.]

also toko in a day, how the fuck did that happen?

[and we might have started singing just a little soon.]
kthxrawr: (p!atd - Brendon - you can't be serious)
[personal profile] kthxrawr
So hay, Reading. Why are you whoring out all the Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance bands? I mean. I'm not actually complaining or anything but-
Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, The Academy is, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes. I mean. Um, ahaha, what.

Plus Brand New, Bloc Party, the Shins, Lostprophets, Hellogoodbye. Although I'll have to wait until we actually get there to work out what I'm seeing when, but I definately have certain priorities.

Jesus christ, I may actually die after that weekend. Becky! It will be fabulous. :D I'm really excited for this now.
...I've only just noticed the remarkable similarities between the HCT line up and some of this. Hmm.

(no subject)
kthxrawr: (p!atd - Jon approves)

READING, BITCHES.

FUCKING READING.

...I love Bex so much. ♥

[it means I'm going to be £200 down already so close to the start of term but but who cares. I am going to see Fall Out Boy! And Panic! And loads of others! WHATWHATWHAT]

[so much for the Summer of Like, this is the Summer of Win and Not Much Money]

[The songs you grow to like never stick at first.]
kthxrawr: (p!atd - Jon Walker is awesome.)
[personal profile] kthxrawr
Ugggh, gigs.

So, sometime after Leeds tickets went on sale, Jonny decided to show me the lineup.
...Oh my god, the bastard. Because Panic!, Fall Out Boy, Lostprophets and Brand New are all the on line up. But of course, all the tickets are sold out, and ebay has them at horrendous prices. Gaaah.

Bex, tell me when you start looking and can find any that aren't way overpriced? IO have a feeling it won't happen.
I mean, I can see Panic when they tour - if they tour - after the new album, but not FOB. Because the Manchester gig is a) sold out and b) in Easter.
I am sads.

===

Admin at uni are still awful, and nobody knows whats happening. The only person who does comes back tomorrow.
However, I might have gone mad by then from being constantly told to plead my case.

...I do have a lot of anger, I guess. Ha.

===

I also have a lot of hunger. And desire for a new haircut. I have no idea if bangs would actually suit me.

I'm just sitting here humming the Imperial march. Life is good for the moment.

[Light up, light up, as if you have a choice.]
kthxrawr: (Jodie - hee [loserz])

set list get plz )

So um... wow. Yeah. Totally. That's the set list from Sunday, but you know what, it's the same.
Songs I was expecting to hear: All of the Eyes Open tracks, Run :P
Songs I wasn't expecting to hear: Grazed Knees and How To Be Dead. o_o; I was really surprised they played a lot of the older stuff, or at least, a lot of Final Straw. Which makes me happy, oh so happy.
Songs I wished they played: Hands Open. Blah. XD

The crowd wasn't as great as Muse. It was only for the encore that everyone was really getting up XD It was still pretty ace though, I think more for the music than the atmosphere. So many songs that I never thought I'd actually hear live! The two songs I wasn't expecting were okay as well. Lighting was shiny.
The first support act was pretty good. :3 Way better than Muse's support.

...Run. Live. Assdfdg.
I also emo over the fact the person I called during Run... didn't answer their phone. Emoemoemo.

I don't know which was better, this or Muse. I mean, I love them both. I prefer Snow Patrol's new album to Muse's, and I guess they're two kinda different bands. I don't mind so much about the crowd deadness, I was just thrilled to hear the music. And watch them play and dance around like crazy.

I also ended up having a really good talk with Keith, we were both kinda brutally honest about stuff. In short, we're both glad we spilt up. XD We had fun, but being friends is good too. If not better. Because I'm pretty happy with how things are.

===

Today was bad because I didn't work.
Today was good because [livejournal.com profile] loki128, [livejournal.com profile] pinali, [livejournal.com profile] kiraras_lemon and friend, Steve and I hung out in Nyanchester. :P Yummy ramen and tempura was eaten, multiple cat pictures were looked at and it was just fun :3
So after exams plz!

So apart from the fact that blargh, coursework, life is pretty good. :3

Holy crap, AUCHI. Or Auchinomwa. Or... Lokinomwa. *shot get*

Also, how much does anyone going to Muse in BIRMINGHAM love me? If you'd like, buy me a girls tour tshirt, I'd pay you at Christmas. ;___;

Oh, oh, how I died. It was made of pure win and sex.
