Um, ok, kinda urgent message. Has anyone any idea how I can make a pleated skirt in one day? XP If anyone can, I will love you. Forever.

Paws: done. Sakura: cut and tacked, just need to machine sew. Kisa: bwaha. >_>;

Now to take the mike and the Nik to sainsburys and places.

How complex or neat do you want the skirt? Also, elasticated waist or have you a zip? Either way you should be able to make it in a day.

How much do you know about making pleated skirts? ^_^;; Just so I don't get patronising...

(Is this for cosplay? Got a picture of what you want? ^_^)

Elasticated, and um, next to nothing. XD So simple-ish ^^;
And the girl here is what it's meant to be. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/sarri/cosplay.jpg)

Kisa-Chan! ^_^

Ok then! Measure how long you want the skirt to be, cut out a length no less really than 2m. The longer your strip of fabric, the more pleaty your skirt will be.

If you're not worried about having totally even pleats, then fold your fabric the same-ish amount at intervals that look about the same in the same direction. What's important is that you end up with something that you can elasticate, so it's got to be bigger round the waist than your actual waist. If you really want to you could work out the exact measurements, but I'm hopeless with maths so couldn't tell you how to do it (I think I usually go for good old trial and error when pining evenly...)

Machine sew the pleats down at the top. Ironing can be good here too. Something you might want to do, is to sew the pleats down slightly at the top - so, you'd sew down the fabric about 2 inches where the pleat is (if that makes sense). It's not necessary, but it might help hold the pleats in place and also makes you look thinner. ^_^;;

Once you've done this, create your waistband, folding over the fabric at the top and sewing it down. Pin the seams of the fabric together to get your skirt shape and then thread your elastic through your waistband, tieing it in a knot at the end. Sew up the seam and then hem the bottom of the skirt.

Iron. Maybe use some starch if you want your pleats to really stay in. Hopefully then you'll have a pleated skirt!

Sorry if some of this doesn't make any sense or is simple stuff you already know (which I think some of it will be) Sorry! ^_^;; When you get going, it's really kinda easy though, so you shouldn't have much trouble with it!

Good luck with Kisa! ^_^

Well I'm not the best person to answer this as one I'm a guy so don't ware them to I've not realy sowed much at all but on the up side everything I have made turned out great first time so so yeah how I would do it is;

A simple way won't look that great is just take the matiral as a very long strip pin it into the pleats I wouldn't bother trying to taper it in with that much time just simple folds and sow them into wast band I'd make it elasticated so you don't have the sip to worry about but you can also get a second band of matiral to use as a wast band as well wich you can put the elastic into doing it what was won't look perfect but will be ok and is doable in the time and i do everything by hand so with a machin its a pritty quick job!

But please some one ellce who knows what there talking about answer her I don't wanna be responsable my palns always go rung for other people!

I saw Paws and thought you wanted me for some reason XD

I tried to make a pleated skirt on monday night/tuesday daytime... I got bored and went out... no second cosplay for meeee xD

(Mine was gonna be zippy though)

What time and where tomorrow? XD And we may be coming to drop off a sleeping bag and pillow tonight.
