Well there's the sweet loveable and knee-high Christmas elves, and the evil elves that are about, chest height, then there are the proud, tall and elegant elves of the Tolkein era... yeah I wish people would make up their mind on the appearance of elves. XD

Christmaas Elves are just mis-named dwarves, they appear all cute and loveable but really there grumpy and drunk.
